The UK is ready to advance with using the entire amount of frozen Russia's holdings to aid Ukraine's military campaign, PM Sir Keir Starmer has stated.

In a collective announcement, the heads of state of the Britain, the French Republic, and Germany stated that this unified step would escalate tension on Russia's leader Vladimir Putin and persuade Moscow to come to the table.

They added that the move would be implemented in tight collaboration with the United States.

British restrictions have blocked in excess of £25bn of Russian funds since the Russian government began its full-scale invasion against Ukraine in 2022. However, previously, money allocated to the Ukrainian government using Russia's holdings had only been sourced from earnings and returns accrued on them.

Sir Keir informed President Volodymyr Zelensky that the United Kingdom, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany were united in their aim to push forward toward employing the total worth of the seized Russia's state funds to halt hostilities.

He stated that additional restrictions soon would heighten the tension on Russia.

This announcement is subsequent to European leaders convened in Copenhagen last week to consider using immobilized Russian assets for a €140 billion credit to Ukraine.

Recently, President Donald Trump urged G7 allies to confiscate or employ immobilized Russian holdings, according to news outlets.

The value of immobilized Russian funds in the European Union is assessed to be nearly €211bn.

The Russian government executed large-scale aerial attacks throughout Ukraine on that day, resulting in blackouts in significant regions of Ukraine's capital, the city, and eight other regions.

Two people were lost their lives and at least 20 people were hurt in the strike, authorities in Ukraine reported.

In a message on X after the strike, Zelensky stated that the premeditated assault focused on civilian and energy infrastructure.

"What's needed is not empty words but firm measures - from the US, EU, and the seven nations - in delivering anti-aircraft weapons and implementing penalties," he emphasized.

"Each restrictive measure diminishes Russia's war machine," Zelensky wrote, in a separate post.

Additionally that day, Zelensky told the press he would encourage Sir Keir to join the weapons procurement programme, under which alliance members purchase arms from the United States to donate to the Ukrainian forces.

While commending the UK's consistent assistance for the Ukrainian government, he noted it should demonstrate clearly that it would participate in the program, as well as enforce more restrictions on the Russian Federation.
